Meetings and minutes
A workshop by Tony Saddington
Two of the “chores” of organizational life are the running of meetings and the taking of minutes.
This course will explore a range of issues faced by people who run meetings, chair committees or are responsible for minute-taking. We will explore questions such as: What is the role of a chairperson? How can we involve others in the many tasks of a committee? What does it mean to be a democratic leader? How does a leader involve others in a way that empowers them? What does it mean to be accountable? How can we ensure that leaders of meetings and committees are responsible? What should be included in the minutes of a meeting? How should minutes be presented?
The course is designed to give new insights and skills in how to:
- chair a meeting
- take minutes of a meeting
- run general meetings - both big and small
The workshop will be run experientially and includes group sessions, structured experiences and short theory sessions. Active participation is encouraged.
Who should attend:
People who chair or run meetings and/or those who are responsible for minute-taking.
